Gideon is a WAFA graduate. He started with loanspells at FC Liefering and Sturm Graz before being transferred to Red Bull Salzburg. From Salzburg he went on loan again to Zulte Waregem, Vitoria Guimaraes and Bordeaux. At Red Bull Salzburg he won the UEFA Youth League. In 2022 Gideon was sold to AJ Auxerre. Gideon was part of the Black Stars who went to the World Cup in 2022 and Africa Cup in 2022. He was also part of the Black Stars who played at AFCON 2023. In 2024 Gideon got promoted with AJ Auxerre. They went from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1 in France. In October 2024 Gideon extended his contract with AJ Auxerre till 2026.
