Scouts are watching the tournament

Over the past few days, the West African Football Academy (WAFA), in collaboration with Tier One Agency from England, successfully organized an Under-19 tournament. The event aimed to showcase our players to invited head of recruitments, sporting directors, and scouts from a number of prominent European clubs.

Representatives from clubs including Bodo Glimt, Malmo FF, Nordsjaelland, and Chelsea attended the event, along with a club from Ukraine. Many of our guests stayed on-site at our academy, where they experienced firsthand the warm hospitality that WAFA is known for.

The tournament was not only an opportunity for players to demonstrate their skills but also a platform for clubs to identify new talents. While top talents usually find their way to success, some players require more time to mature, and even late bloomers have the potential to shine. A sharp eye for talent is critical in this process, making our relationship with scouts and clubs vital.

WAFA is proud of the results achieved during this tournament, where matches were watched, and opportunities for our players were discussed. We are confident that this event will open new doors for our academy talents.

Looking ahead, WAFA plans to organize more of these tournaments throughout the year, both locally and internationally, to continue promoting the development of young footballers.
