The West African Football Academy (WAFA) has received a remarkable donation of medical supplies from Kanzlsperger, a leading physiotherapy company based in Germany. This initiative was made possible through the partnership of Professor Jonathan Quartey, a longtime supporter of the academy.
The presentation ceremony, held at WAFA's training grounds in Sogakope, was a moment of gratitude and celebration. WAFA's Head Coach, Saddick Abubakar, highlighted the value of the donation, noting its significance in bolstering the team's efforts:
"We are grateful to Professor Quartey for these items. The technical team and players appreciate this generous contribution, which will greatly support our work as a team moving forward."
Our Managing Director, Jan Gosgens, also acknowledged the gesture, reflecting on Professor Quartey's enduring relationship with the academy:
"We are very grateful for this donation. Professor Quartey has been part of our journey since our Feyenoord days, and we are thrilled to see this bond grow stronger. His contributions over the years have been invaluable, and we look forward to continued collaboration."
Professor Quartey, who worked with WAFA for over a decade during its Feyenoord era, explained his motivation behind the donation:
"My passion for rehabilitation and player welfare drives me to support initiatives like this. WAFA has been an important part of my journey, and I’m committed to contributing to their success in any way I can."
The donation is the latest in a series of contributions by Professor Quartey to support football in Ghana, underscoring his dedication to the development of player health and wellbeing.
WAFA, currently competing in Zone 2 of the National Division Two League, continues to strive for excellence both on and off the field, with player welfare as a cornerstone of its mission.
